FAQs about evaporative coolers

Evaporative coolers reduce the temperature in a particular space using natural evaporation processes. Existing warm air is drawn into the unit, and absorbed by pads soaked in cold water. As the water evaporates, it loses its heat, at which point it is circulated back into the room at a lower temperature.

When compared to fans and air conditioners, our evaporative coolers are an efficient way of cooling areas ranging in size from 100m2 to 300m2. The units use only cold water and a fan to dissipate the heat and release cool air, meaning an evaporative cooler uses significantly less energy than an air conditioner.

A portable evaporative cooler can still be used to provide cooling relief in a humid climate. However, a higher level of humidity in the room may cause the evaporation process to become less effective than in a drier area.
